Program Refund Policy

 

Astoria Parks and Recreation Refund/Credit Policy

**All refunds/credits will be assessed a $10 administration charge**

Program/Activity Refunds
Refunds for activity cancellations will be given based on the following timeline:

  • Full Refund: when canceling at least 3 weeks prior to the program start date
  • 50% Refund: when canceling 1-3 weeks prior to the program start date
  • 50% Credit: when canceling within 1 week of the program start date
  • Refunds and credits will not be given once the program has started

Equipment Rental Refunds
Refunds for equipment rental cancellations will be given based on the following timeline:

  • Full Refund: when cancelling more than 4 weeks prior to rental date
  • 75% Refund: when canceling less than 4 weeks prior to rental date
  • Refunds will not be given if canceling within 24 hours of the rental date

Facility Rental Refunds
Refunds for facility rental cancellations will be given based on the following timeline:

  • 75% Refund: when canceling at least 8 weeks prior to reservation date
  • 50% Refund: when canceling at least 4 weeks prior to reservation date
  • Refunds will not be given with less than 4 weeks notice

Program, Activity, or Rental Change Requests
Requests to transfer or change any existing activity registrations or rentals will be subject to the same
refund/credit timeline as listed above.

 

Exceptions may be made to this policy at the discretion of the Parks Director for the following reasons:

  • Cancellation due to medical emergency (with medical provider’s note)
  • Clerical errors resulting in double-booking

All requests for refunds must be done in writing three (3) ways:

  • Written notice can be emailed to parksinfo@astoria.gov with “REFUND REQUEST ATTN: PARKS DIRECTOR” in the subject line of the message. Written notice can be mailed to 1997 Marine Dr., Astoria, OR 97103 (postmarked date will apply).  Please include: “Attention: Parks Director” on refund request envelope

Written notice can be delivered in person to the front desk of either the Aquatic Center (1997 Marine Dr.). Please include: “Attention: Parks Director” on requests or documents

 

All written notices must be delivered before 5:00 pm of the cutoff date to be considered for any complete or partial refund.

 

 

Medical or death in the family refunds requested with a doctor’s note and/or death certificate prior to the start date of the program will be granted in full. A prorated refund will be granted for medical or death refund requests received during the program.  Refund requests for other unforeseen reasons will be considered on a case.
