Our Parks & Facilities

Come and visit our Parks! Click below for the link to locations. We have a variety of tennis courts, basketball courts, ballfields, skatepark, trails, and much more.

  • Lil' Sprouts Academy - This is a great place for your child to learn and grow!
  • Astoria Recreation Center - The Astoria Recreation Center offers programs for school age children and adults. We have a wide variety of fitness classes an after school program, a Teen Center, and offer recreational classes for all ages.
  • Astoria Parks - Check out all of Astoria's parks!
  • Port of Play - Experience structured and open play geared to young children. Our center features an indoor play center with mats, tricycles, small slides, and scooters that provide opportunities for youngsters to run and be active.
  • Aquatic Center - Four pools, a huge water slide and a large fitness area all under one roof.
  • Astoria Column - Completed in 1926, the column is a monumental piece of Astoria's history. Located at the top of Coxcomb Hill, the Column stretches upwards 125 feet, with 164 spiral steps to reach the viewing deck.
  • Kid Zone - This is a unique after school program that serves Astoria's Kindergarten through 5th grade students! Each day we will help your children with homework and offer exciting crafts, games and team building activities.
  • Master Plan - The City of Astoria Parks and Recreation Department is conducting a Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

City of Astoria Closes Facilities Until Further Notice

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, closures have been extended past the originally planned date of March 31st and will be in place until further notice.

Ginger Nealon has been with Astoria Parks and Recreation’s Fitness Division since July of 2018. She gets rave reviews from her Core, Yoga and Stability Circuits attendees and has been described by her class as “aware, patient and fun to follow.” Ginger is talented in an array of different fitness disciplines and is an absolute asset to our entire Department. We all appreciate her consistency and friendly and motivating attitude. Thank you so much, Ginger!

 

Park Partner of the Month

Howard Rub, Athletic Director for Astoria School District, has been a long term supporter and partner of the Parks Department.  Coach Rub’s eagerness to share resources, promote programs, and foster student athletes who assist us as sports officials and life guards have helped the Department achieve many of our goals.  We greatly appreciate Howard’s dedication to our community and his drive to help us succeed.  Thank you Coach Rub!
