Doughboy Monument

Located at the corner of Columbia and Marine Drive 

August 24, 2017  **Due to a vehicular accident that occurred on 8/24, the Doughboy Monument and its restrooms will be closed until further notice.  Please continue to monitor our Facebook page for updates**

The Doughboy Monument is a large monument built to commemorate the soldiers who fought in The First World War. This monument is surrounded by grassy lawns and houses a public restroom. The monument was constructed in 1926

The 2018 Parks Maintenance Crew has had an excellent summer, working hard and serving the community by keeping our parks well maintained and safe.  Their good work can be seen from Oceanview Cemetery to Alderbrook Lagoon and all points in-between.  Thank you to Mark Montgomery, Katie Leedy, Chad Gallup, Kyle Birge, Matthew Burgher, Kirk Miller, and Ted Ames for all you do!

Park Partner of the Month

David Reid is well known throughout the City of Astoria for his tireless assistance and partnerships with multiple organizations and we're fortunate to be one of them!  David was instrumental taking on logistics and planning for the community Easter Egg Hunt and is an active supporter and collaborator with the Department in his role as Director of the Warrenton Astoria Chamber of Commerce.  Thank you David!!
