Please join us during our Special Events! Throughout the year we have a variety of events that you and your family may attend. Some of these events are free and some of them have a fee involved. We work hard to bring families and people together in our community! 

Summer Extravaganza

Celebrate summer!  Join us for music, a Touch-A-Truck experience for the kids, food, and much more! A great activity for friends and families to gather and enjoy another Astoria experience! See you there!

Four Legged Fun Run

This race is for the dogs! Bring your furry companions for a family friendly fun run along the River Walk.  Race check in will start at the River Walk across from the aquatic center at 5:30pm on Thursday, July 17.  Choose from two different course lengths, a “small dog” run will be held for those looking to stretch little legs but not overexert.  Our “big dogs” course is a 5k race for those looking for a little more challenge.  The race will begin at 6:30pm.

 Thursday, July 17, Astoria River Walk off of 20th Street, 6:30pm, small dog course is $15.00, big dog course is $25.00. 


Family Fun Day & Concert in the Park

The Astoria Parks & Recreation staff brings a day of music to Tapiola park in Astoria! Enjoy the band Brownsmead Flats from 3pm–5pm on Saturday, July 12. There’s something for the whole family with games, activities, concessions and it’s a great way to support local musicians!

Free Summer Movies at the Park

Enjoy a family-oriented movie every Wednesday evenings at Lindstrom Park. All movies will start at dusk or near 8:30pm. Bring family and friends and enjoy an affordable, entertaining evening. Can you smell popcorn? Our concession stand will offer popcorn, snow cones, candy, and more for reasonable prices! Check out our website for a schedule of movies.
