Thu, Nov 01, 2018

Join us on Sunday, November 11, at the Astoria Public Library (450 10th St.), to celebrate the completion of the restoration grant work and honoring the Veterans of WWI.

The event will start with the laying of a poppy wreath at the Doughboy Monument at 11:00 am on Marine Drive while Bells of Peace are rung throughout the City.

It will include a flag ceremony, speakers on the history of the Monument and Clatsop County members’ contributions during the War, and a World War I memorabilia display starting at the Library at 1:00pm. Cake and light refreshments provided after a short ceremony.

Free to the public.

Vanessa Marshall has been with Lil' Sprouts Academy for almost 3.5 years. During this time she has taken on various responsibilities: teaching in the preschool and pre-k classrooms, helping develop and organize curriculum, mentoring teachers and most currently being a PIC (person in charge). She is always going above and beyond, setting the bar high above what is expected.

The love she has for our kiddos and our cause shows immensely in the work that she does, and we are so fortunate to have her!

Hees Enterprises have been incredible supporters of the Parks department, donating in meaningful ways over the past several years.

Owners, Fergus and Tammy Loughran are faithful customers of the Astoria Aquatic Center and have always supported its place in the community.  Most recently, the Loughrans donated funds to refurbish all of the weight benches in the Aquatic Center fitness room before our annual closure, contributing to the enhancement of our facility. Thank you so much, Fergus and Tammy for supporting Astoria Parks!
